International Relations Club

The International Relations Club offers students a wide forum for discussion and attending events related to international affairs, diplomacy, and global issues. Events include:

Ambassador Series

The IR Club continues the tradition of the Ambassador Series, started in 2007 with the visit of Ambassador William R. Timken from the United States. It serves the purpose of giving HSoG-students the opportunity to engage in an informative dialog with ambassadors from diverse countries in an expressly informal setting – without the rigidity created by the presence of media representatives and other third parties. It poses a unique opportunity for students of public policy to gain first-hand experience of the diplomatic profession.

Specialized Topic Series

The IR Club organizes events based on specialized regional or national topics of interest to students, giving them an opportunity to learn about major world events and themes outside of a classroom setting.

Networking Series

Students gain insight into IR-related professional networks through events hosted at Hertie as well as excursions around Berlin and beyond.
